A lack of access to space transportation is a “huge problem” for Europe at the moment, the head of the European Space Agency has warned.

In recent years, politicians and officials have pushed for Europe to increase its autonomy around access to space, and Esa has tried to ramp up the development of the next generation of European launchers, including Ariane 6 and Vega-C.
