Open Research Europe ‘unlikely to grow rapidly’ despite plans

EU’s open-access platform should aim to publish 2,000 articles annually in opening up, report says

The EU’s non-profit publishing platform is unlikely to expand rapidly, even if it is opened up for use by a broader population of researchers, a study has suggested.

Open Research Europe was launched in 2021 to serve as an open-access publishing platform for grantees of the bloc’s current and previous R&D funding programmes, Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020.
