Digital Europe initiative is designed to work with Horizon Europe R&D programme
The EU has set out how it intends to spend €1.3 billion on digitisation projects to harness artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and other technology areas to tackle issues such as climate change and energy security.
Its plans came in the form of two 2023-24 work programmes for the bloc’s Digital Europe programme, published on 24 March by the European Commission. Digital Europe has a budget of €7.5bn for 2021-27, to support projects in five main areas: supercomputing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, skills, and technology uptake across the economy and society.
