Efforts should be made to involve researchers in shift to open-access publishing, study finds

The increasing complexity of open-access scholarly publishing “risks losing researchers”, according to a preliminary report of a review into the impact of the Plan S initiative.

Launched in 2018, Plan S brought together research funders from around the world who agreed to require their beneficiaries to make resulting publications openly available for readers.
