Cern launches monthly artist residence

Cern, the European particle physics centre in Geneva, is launching a one-month research award for artists who have not previously had a longer stay at a science lab.

The initiative will be called Accelerate at Cern, and is, with the facility’s flagship artists residency programme Collide at Cern, part of Arts at Cern, which began in 2011.

Under the programme, two countries will fund two different artists to participate in the award each year. The recipients will receive 5,000CHF (€4,000) for a one-month research visit to Cern.
