Eureka calls for more ERA innovation

Eureka, an EU initiative for research in small businesses, has urged member states to do more to develop the innovation part of the European Research Area.

In a paper published on 1 December, Eureka listed what it has done regarding each of the priorities in an ERA roadmap with the purpose of achieving its full implementation. According to Eureka, innovation in ERA could be increased further by establishing more collaboration between Eureka projects and other projects in EU member states.

Eureka also said in the document that it would join the Stakeholder Platform, a group of research groups that work on partnership with the European Commission to develop ERA. Eureka would become the sixth group in doing so, after the European University Association, the League of European Research Universities, the European Association of Research and Technological Organisations, NordForsk and Science Europe.
