Europe sets up nanomedicine resource centre

The European Nanomedicine Characterisation Laboratory has been established to foster innovation in biomedicine by sharing knowledge between academia and industry in Europe and the United States.

The laboratory, which launched on 1 July, is the first transnational nanomedicine centre in Europe.

The EU-NCL will provide test and analysis facilities that will foster the use of standard operating procedures, benchmarking of materials and quality management of nano-medical products, the European Commission said. The lab will also promote interdisciplinary communication to drive innovation, particularly between developers and regulatory agencies.
