Commission assembles advisory group for science cloud

The implementation of the European Open Science Cloud will be steered by a dedicated high-level group of ten advisors, the European Commission has announced.

The group was launched on 21 June and will be chaired by Silvana Muscella, who is chief executive of the ICT research company Trust-IT Services. It is expected to meet four times and to produce a report by the end of 2018, with its first meeting scheduled for 29 June in Brussels.

The remit of the group is to advise the Commission on what measures it should take to help implement the science cloud. Its members are skilled in various aspects of business management, making it “distinct from traditional advisory groups”, the Commission’s press release said.
