The Estonian presidency of the EU has launched a public consultation on the impact of research and innovation in Europe.
The consultation calls on researchers, funders and policymakers to suggest proposals on how to get more impact from European research and innovation. The results will inform a call for action to be published in October.
One of the questions included in the consultation seeks views on which of the advances in science and technology that Europe has contributed to have had the biggest impact. Options for this question include the discoveries of the structure of DNA and the risks of climate change, as well as the invention of Skype, an Estonian internet services company.
