Universities and research institutes in Finland, Poland and Slovakia are to benefit from a major investment drive by the European Investment Bank.
In the bank’s latest investment round, announced on 19 September, a total of €11.5 billion is to be spent on areas including research, transport and urban development.
Education and research have been allocated loans totalling €1.9bn, part of which will support investments at institutions in Finland, Poland and Slovakia. The refurbishment, expansion and digitisation of schools in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia in Germany will also be prioritised.
