Copernicus prizes open

The EU-led Copernicus Earth observation programme has launched 16 data exploitation challenges, with money, coaching and other prizes to be won.

The Copernicus Masters 2018 competition, which opened on 5 April, offers prizes worth more than €600,000, according to its website. These include cash prizes, business incubation and coaching support, patent consulting and access to technical facilities.

Sixteen different challenges are available, covering topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in data exploitation and the use of Copernicus data to solve transport problems. The challenges are open to entries from industry, public organisations and individuals from all over the world, with a deadline of 30 June.
