Research institutes want Commission to revise rules for state subsidy

The European Union should not regulate government support for private R&D in the same way as it controls subsidies for other business activities, a group representing research institutes has said.

“Research is not a product on the market, the legislation needs to take it into account,” Muriel Attané, director general of the European Association of Research and Technology Organisations, told Research Professional News.
