ClearSpace-1 mission will be first orbital clean-up attempt, says ESA

The European Space Agency says it will launch the first mission specifically designed to remove an item of debris from orbit around the Earth in 2025.

ESA announced on 9 December that it has commissioned the Swiss start-up ClearSpace, which is led by Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne researchers, for the project.
