A European initiative has been set up to bring together research organisations, industry and public funders to speed up improvements in battery technology and manufacture.
The European Technology and Innovation Platform on Batteries launched on 5 February. It is part of the broader European Battery Alliance, a collaboration that started in 2017.
“By enhancing support for research and innovation on all types of battery technologies, the new platform will consolidate the industrial basis for this sector in Europe, creating new growth opportunities and new jobs,” the European Commission said.
