More than a year after the European Commission began seeking a new director for the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, it has finally produced a shortlist of candidates, Research Europe has learned.
A vacancy notice for a director of the institute, which supports knowledge exchange among research, innovation and higher education bodies, was published on 1 June 2018. More than a year later, on 19 June, the Commission passed a shortlist of applicants to the EIT’s governing board for consideration.
In a comment to Research Europe before the handover, the governing board said it “looks forward to receiving the shortlist from the European Commission so that it can proceed with the appointment”.
