Annual €1 million prize is up for grabs again
The European Commission has opened applications for the 2020 European Capital of Innovation contest, which recognises cities based on how innovatively they address social challenges and involve the public in decision-making.
Announcing the opening of the competition, R&D commissioner Mariya Gabriel said it “champions cities as key players in the transition to [an] environmentally, economically and socially sustainable Europe”.
