Health programme should fund child cancer studies, says MEP

Recommendation made in draft report for proposed programme

The MEP guiding plans to set up an EU health programme for the European Parliament’s public health committee has said the programme should fund cross-border research into childhood cancer.

In a draft report published on 17 June, Cristian-Silviu Buşoi said: “There is a lack of innovative therapies to treat children with cancer. The programme should therefore provide for actions in this regard…and support cross-border research collaboration by granting appropriate allocations.”
