Commission sets out plan for Horizon Europe partnerships

Plan for management of industry collaboration aims at increased evidence of effectiveness

The European Commission has presented a plan for how the EU should help set the objectives of the industrial partnerships the bloc will part-fund through its 2021-27 EU R&D programme, Horizon Europe, and for how the partnerships should be monitored and managed.

Potentially dozens of such partnerships are expected to be allocated a substantial portion of the programme budget—up to half of its second pillar, focused on global challenges and industrial competitiveness—to support innovation in areas such as clean aviation, medicines development and electronics.
