European survey responses cite bureaucracy, budgets and broadband as barriers to innovation collaboration

Clunky research administration and tight budgets are seen as obstacles to closer Europe-Africa innovation collaboration, according to a survey of 15 European national governments.

Ten of the governments surveyed, including those of Austria, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, said there were some obstacles to innovation cooperation with or in African countries, the European Research Area and Innovation Committee of EU advisers reported on 14 April.
