Regulatory agencies asked to set out minimum standards for compliance with EU rules
Medical groups including patient representatives are calling on Europe’s umbrella body for national medicines regulators to introduce “common minimum standards” for these agencies to push organisations conducting clinical trials to report their results.
According to the EU Trials Tracker website, nearly 30 per cent of 13,563 completed European drug trials have not had their results reported, contrary to EU transparency rules that require results to be made public within a year of a trial’s completion.
