EU’s health R&D found to lack funding and coordination

European Parliament report says Covid-19 revealed “systemic and inherent” weaknesses in health research funding

EU health R&D lacks funding and coordination, according to a report from the think tank of the European Parliament.

“Covid-19 highlighted several weaknesses in health research that appear to be systemic and inherent to the organisation and funding of health research in the EU,” the report says. “A common denominator in these weaknesses is fragmentation and lack of coherence.”
