European Patent Office and EU innovation agency strengthen ties

  

Move intended to reinforce work on activities including business support and training

The European Patent Office has strengthened its ties to the R&D sector by signing a memorandum of understanding to guide collaboration with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.

Cooperation areas for the EPO, which grants intellectual property rights, and the EIT, which fosters innovation networks, will mainly entail supporting businesses, mapping technological and economic trends, education and training, and raising awareness of the two organisations’ activities.
