Patent offices plan joint work on sustainable development

Offices for Europe, Japan and US discuss equity in education and voluntary technology transfer

The patent offices of Europe, Japan and the United States are planning to work more closely together on helping to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular around equity in education.

The three offices came together for their 41st trilateral conference in Munich this month, which had a focus on SDG 4, “ensuring inclusive and equitable quality of education”. There are 17 SDGs on areas including poverty, hunger and health, which the UN member states agreed in 2015 to try to achieve by 2030.
