EU member states to align their quantum tech research

Research and innovation in quantum technologies should support EU security and competition, declaration says

Eleven EU member states have signed a declaration on quantum technologies, promising to align their research in the area in pursuit of global leadership.

Quantum computing, simulation, communication, sensing and metrology are emerging R&D and technology fields that could be useful in sectors including energy, healthcare, manufacturing, security and space, according to the declaration issued on 5 December.
