Auditors to examine EU efforts on artificial intelligence

Stakes for EU competitiveness are too high to get AI wrong, warns lead auditor

EU support for artificial intelligence is to be examined by the European Court of Auditors—the body tasked with improving the bloc’s financial management.

The court announced on 20 March that it was starting to assess EU action to support AI, and specifically whether European Commission plans and financial measures can make Europe a global leader in it.
