EU health emergency body created amid pandemic should “become comprehensive crisis hub”, says civil society

The EU health emergency response body created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic has too narrow a remit, civil society organisations have said.

The Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority was created by the European Commission in 2021 to better prepare the EU for future health threats by coordinating response measures, such as the development of vaccines and treatments.
