‘New and stronger approaches needed for research valorisation’

EU presidency says bloc should better support socioeconomic exploitation of research results

The EU should strengthen its existing approaches to supporting the socioeconomic exploitation of research results and simultaneously devise new means of support for such ‘valorisation’, according to a draft text intended to be adopted by the bloc’s research ministers.

The suggestions were put forward on 9 January by the Belgian presidency of the Council of the EU governments, for discussion at a meeting next week. As previously reported by Research Professional News, the presidency has made research valorisation a priority of its January to June term.
