Plan is part of first EU strategy for defence industry
The European Commission intends to set up a new system of grants to fund the conversion of promising defence research into military products and services.
Its plan for increasing EU support for commercialising defence research was set out on 5 March, as part of the first-ever EU defence industrial strategy.
