European Innovation Council should be radically reformed alone lines of US agencies, say economists

The EU’s flagship innovation agency should be radically reformed along the lines of the successful US Advanced Research Project Agencies, a group of European economists has proposed.

The European Innovation Council (EIC) needs to better target breakthrough research while giving leading scientists a more central role in selecting projects, the economists say in a report released this month.
