‘More commitment needed’ for European Health Data Space

  

Current funding for EHDS is “misaligned” and “falls short” of its ambitions, report warns

European countries need to strengthen their commitment to funding the European Health Data Space to make the initiative a success, a report has warned.

EU politicians reached an agreement last month on the EHDS, which is intended to comprise digital infrastructure and related rules to give patients more control over their medical data and care, and to facilitate use of this data in healthcare and research. The EHDS was first proposed by the European Commission in 2022.
