Audit finds EU has not kept up with other global powers on artificial intelligence spending

The EU is falling behind other global powers when it comes to investing in artificial intelligence, according to an official audit.

It “has so far had little success in developing Europe’s AI ecosystem and has failed to accelerate AI investment” at a sufficient rate, the European Court of Auditors said on 29 May.
