Council of the EU calls for more investment in digitisation and support for related research
EU ministers have agreed that Europe must invest more in digitisation, from both the public and private sectors, and better support related research and innovation to bolster its global competitiveness.
At a meeting of the Council of the EU member states in Brussels on 21 May, ministers responsible for transport, telecommunications and energy adopted a set of conclusions that say “the digital transformation needs adequate, combined and coordinated investments at EU level” in addition to national investments.
