President Michael D. Higgins has highlighted Ireland’s success in winning FP7 research funding when he presented five outstanding achievement awards for projects ranked first in the EU in their respective research areas.
The event in Dublin on 16 June celebrated the 1,200 Irish applicants to FP7 who collectively have won €384 million since 2007. They include 104 small and medium-sized enterprises who together have won €70m in EU support, said Imelda Lambkin of the National Support Network for FP7 in Ireland.
