Irish-based drug development company Elan is to endow a biotechnology research chair at University College Dublin in a €3.7 million, seven-year deal that includes two postdoctoral scholarships.
The agreement was announced in Dublin on 11 July. It is unusual in that the appointee will work in both the business and the research areas with the aim of building expertise at the junction of the two, according to the partners.
