Poor student maths uptake raises competitiveness concerns

Poor uptake of higher maths subjects and poor student performance threaten Ireland’s competitiveness, according to a report by the National Competitiveness Council.

Released on 3 July, the report, ‘Maths and National Competitiveness’, was prepared as a discussion paper in response to a continuing decline in standards.
