Award recipients meet president of Ireland

The two latest recipients of the President of Ireland Young Researcher Award have met the patron of the award scheme, president Michael D Higgins.

Mark Little and Patrick Walsh, both of Trinity College Dublin, were named award winners and met the president on 14 January. The award scheme is one of the most important in the country, given its value, about €1 million over five years, and the boost it gives to the research careers of recipients. It provides substantial funding while researchers are still in the early stages of their careers.
