Galway and Queen’s in timber re-engineering project

National University of Ireland Galway and Queen’s University Belfast are partners in a €500,000 research initiative to produce high quality forestry products from Irish-grown timber.

Led by Galway’s Ryan Institute, the research will involve characterising the properties of Irish-grown timber and then re-engineering it to deliver stronger, more durable construction products, the university announced on 16 January.
