National University of Ireland Galway has appointed Lokesh Joshi as vice president for research. A Science Foundation Ireland Stokes Professor of Glycoscience, he has been based at NUI Galway since 2007.
Details of his appointment were announced by the university on 30 January. Galway has an annual research income of about €58 million and more than 1,500 academic and research staff.
