Commissioner calls on member states to align research efforts

Member states should better coordinate their collective research efforts in a strategically aligned process that would help them tackle societal problems, the commissioner for research and innovation has said.

Maire Geoghegan-Quinn was speaking on 28 February at a conference on joint programming, a research model in which efforts are highly coordinated in order to get more from funding and resources.
