Cork hopes to attract international students with scholarships

University College Cork has announced scholarships at undergraduate and postgraduate level for the 2013-14 academic year in the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science.

The scholarships are worth 25 per cent of the tuition fee for undergraduates and between 25 and 50 per cent for “exceptional” postgraduate students, the university said in a statement on 19 February. The hope is that the scholarships will attract international students and continue the university’s “strategy for internationalisation”, said head of college, Patrick Fitzpatrick. The deadline for application is 1 June 2013.
