Trinity College Dublin has announced the opening of a Centre for Asian Studies that will promote Chinese scholarship and improve the university’s standing in Pan-Asian language studies.
The university has also introduced a masters in Chinese studies, it announced on 28 October, during an education mission to China organised by Enterprise Ireland and led by the minister for education Jan O’Sullivan. The masters will be a two-year taught MPhil and the first intake of students is planned for September 2015.
The centre will focus on language and culture including Mandarin, Korean, Japanese and Indian.
