Climate change body appointed

The government has set up an expert advisory body to assist in forming policy and meeting Irish and international targets on carbon release.

The National Expert Advisory Council on Climate Change, announced on 10 June, has 11 members and is chaired by Professor John FitzGerald.

The group will make recommendations to government and assist its efforts to decarbonise the Irish economy by 2050.
