18 join Royal Irish Academy

The Royal Irish Academy has elected 18 members at its annual admittance ceremony at Academy House in Dublin.

The cohort of members announced on 26 May includes leading researchers in the humanities and sciences from Ireland and abroad who have been deemed to have had a major impact in their field of endeavour.

They bring the number of members of the Royal Irish Academy to 580, including 85 honorary or overseas members.
