Galway researcher recognised for communicating science through comedy

Jessamyn Fairfield of National University of Ireland, Galway, has won a public engagement with science award for her efforts in making physics and science interesting through comedy.

Nanoscientist Fairfield won the Mary Somerville Medal from the Institute of Physics.

She is based in the university’s school of physics and was praised in a 10 July announcement for her ”stellar work” in engaging with the public.
