Accountancy professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh has been named as the next president of National University of Ireland Galway.
Ó hÓgartaigh will become the 13th president of the institution, replacing Jim Browne, the university said announcing the 10-year appointment on 4 September.
The incoming president is principal and dean of University College Dublin’s college of business, where he oversees UCD’s Dublin-based and international programmes, which run out of Hong Kong, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
