Facebook expands Irish activities

Facebook has agreed to lease a 14-acre site in south Dublin, with a view to quadrupling the company’s office space and potentially doubling staff numbers.

The site in Ballsbridge was the headquarters of Allied Irish Banks. AIB will leave the centre, opening the way for Facebook to move its headquarters there from the Grand Canal docks, the company announced on 8 November.

The move to the new campus will take three years, with all 2,000 staff at the Grand Canal site expected to move to Ballsbridge by 2022.
