Major boost for functional food research

Triple funding influx meant to prepare Irish food companies for post-Brexit market diversion

A technology centre at University College Dublin is to receive €21.6 million over the next five years to pursue research into functional foods and other innovations in the agri-food sector.

Food for Health Ireland has won €7.2m from Enterprise Ireland, which is to be matched by €7.2m provided by industry partners and another €7.2m from competitive sources, such as the Horizon2020 research budget.
