The Echelon Data Centres group has announced plans to build two data centres, in west Dublin and Arklow, creating 190 high-tech jobs.
The group, which plans to invest a total of €1 billion in the two centres, released details of its construction plans on 30 January.
When completed, the two sites will account for just over one-third of all big-data storage capacity available in Ireland. However, they represent just 15 per cent of all planned capacity, said Niall Molloy, chief executive of Echelon.
