The Irish Research Council has awarded €4.3m in grants through a programme that supports collaborative ventures between postgraduate or postdoctoral researchers and private-sector partners.
Details of the grants were released by John Halligan, minister for training and skills, on 27 February.
The awards will support 53 researchers working at organisations as varied as the Football Association of Ireland, the Fighting Blindness research charity and Killruddery Arts, Culture, Ecology and Heritage, along with a number of companies, including the Allied Irish Bank.
