A research project to deliver more sustainable fish farming is to receive €2 million from the government’s disruptive technologies innovation fund.
Announced on 13 May, the project will involve the National University of Ireland Galway and company Bio-Marine Ingredients Ireland along with two state bodies: the agricultural research and advisory body Teagasc and the Marine Institute.
The project will help make a more sustainable aquaculture industry by using enzymes to make feed ingredients for fish, said the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation in a statement.
